Our Owner/President

From a young age, Robert Cosumano’s professional dream was to be an entrepreneur and successful furrier. He developed his passion at 6 years old because his father used to bring him to work if he were off from school and would observe the inner workings of a New York fur factory. At the age of 16, he became involved in the industry with his first job hand stretching skins in a fur factory in the heart of the Fur District of Manhattan – Midtown. From there, he acquired a skill in fur design and pattern making. While working as a young man, he attended college and graduated in 1978. Additionally, he was a professor in the study of Fur Design at F.I.T. (Fashion Institute of Technology). This experience led him to open up his first business in Manhattan. After being a partner in multiple stores across the Tristate Area, he decided to focus his dream close to home – Staten Island – which brought him to L Furs. As a result of his leadership and tenacity, L Furs has developed a reputation of being the best furrier on Staten Island and in the Tristate area with respect from both clients and industry professionals. As an entrepreneur, his goal is to provide top quality furs at reasonable pricing with an emphasis on client service. When you visit L Furs, you will experience the family-like atmosphere.
